Black Girl Speaks

                               ...and Healing Begins

What is the Queen & Me Tea?

The inaugural Queen & Me Tea was held in Washington, D.C. as a Farewell to Queen Michelle Obama in 2017.  Since then, Black Girls have come together as mothers, daughters, aunts, nieces, and sisters to honor a different dynamic Black Girl that has had a profound impact on us all.  In 2018, we focused on Reclaiming Our Time by honoring The Honorable Maxine Waters. And, the third and final Queen & Me Tea paid tribute to the aunties of our community-at-large as we highlighted the impact of our honoree, our own BGS community's, Kristin Hemingway.

The third annual and final Queen & Me Tea was held in Atlanta, Ga and honored Kristin Hemingway, and all of the Queen Aunties in our village.

The 2018 2nd Annual Queen & Me Tea held in Atlanta, Georgia is inspired by the
dynamic Congresswoman Maxine Waters.

The Inaugural Queen & Me Tea was held in Washington, D.C. and was inspired by the departure of our Forever FLOTUS, Michelle Obama, from the White House.
